Susan uses her experiences, her positive attitude, and high-energy level to connect with people and show them how they, too, can pursue their dreams and achieve their goals. She shares incredible personal stories of success, failure, persistence, team work, perseverance, hard work, and how these qualities shaped her into the athlete and person she is today. From the rowing fanatic to the rare sports-follower, people who attend Susan's talks will be able to relate to the trials and tribulations it takes to win.
She has done speaking engagements for a wide range of audiences including inner-city high school students, top executives at corporations, and even international dignitaries such as Donald Rumsfeld. Susan has spoken at the corporate headquarters for Citigroup, company retreat for Oakley, and at a conference for Johnson & Johnson. She has traveled all over the country and even as far as Afghanistan to share her story.

Gold Medal Leadership experience is about bringing the values of rowing into the corporate environment. The half or full day seminars include an open dialogue about the importance of teamwork and leadership in the rowing setting and how that relates in the office to improve performance and productivity. Attendees learn the basics of the rowing stroke on the rowing machine and can even try their hand at rowing on the water! The experience is enhanced if attendees are novices to the sport as they learn quickly to work together to get across the finish line.
